Have you ever got to that place where you just want to either feel incredible pain or cause incredible pain because you are so angry you can barely breathe? And then you forget to breathe and that makes you all light-headed and dizzy and so your anger turns to a sickening feeling? And then you try to calm down so you don't throw up and then you can breathe and you get angry all over again?

Well, I've been going through this cycle about three times in the last ten minutes.

I'm angry, frustrated, and clenching my teeth so hard I'm going to need dental work.

One thesis. Three readers - tons of criticism.

Won't even give me one direction of focus to help me. Needs more research. Needs more theory. Needs more examples. Needs less examples. Focus on just the movies. Focus on the comics. Focus on the audiences.

All three want different things.

Postponing graduation til fall. 

Man, I'm so mad I can't even talk in complete sentences. I'm sitting here at IHOP, debating whether to cry the whole way home or start swearing or get to work on the thesis tonight.

I want to learn more about comics, I really do. But sometimes I feel a little lost. I go to the comic book store, and the guys there are so familiar with the characters and the writers and the arcs and the artists. It's a little like entering a grad English theory class and having everyone talking about Derrida, Foucault, Lacan, and Marx with these earnest, concerned looks on their faces, and I just nod along like I know everything about them. I know a little, but I haven't read tons of theory.

So here is my plan. For the next six weeks, I will spend thirty minutes a day researching comics. That is 42 days to find stuff out before Dragon Con. (I know I have more time than that, but I just doing six weeks.) I will also go to the comicbook store once a week and read something.

Now, friends, if you have any good places to start or fandoms to read, bring them on. Remember, I'm taking baby steps, and doing a little at a time so don't give me too much to research.

So I finished teaching the last of my classes for the first half of summer. I have three days off, and then I start teaching the next five weeks for another 60 classes. I need a break, but I'm trying to gear up for the next half.

I am dying to see Transformers and Terminator. I keep trying to get friends to go see one of these, but it hasn't worked out yet. Guess it has been my crazy schedule and workload. I'll have time in the fall, but then there will be no good movies. :(

I want action movies, and I want them now. Hot guys running around and things blowing up with fast-paced music in the background. Right on, man!

This is an author update that describes what I, as the author, am up to and what I plan to work on next.

AN: All right, I just read this manga called Negima! and I really liked it. For you who are not familiar with the manga but enjoy reading my writing, I’ll give a very brief explanation of the story. It about a ten-year-old genius names Negi who graduates from a magical school gets sent to teach an all-girls school in Japan.

I think I'm going to start putting my own fanfiction up here. It's up on fanfiction.net and Potions and Snitches, but I would have to have my own stories up and I could chose pictures to put up. Later tonight when I get home I'll have to work on it.
